Converse Maison Martin Margiela Custom
Maison Martin Margiela (now Maison Margiela) is a French luxury fashion house founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Known for its avant-garde, deconstructed, and minimalist designs, the brand often challenges traditional fashion norms with its use of raw edges, oversized silhouettes, and unconventional materials.
One of Margiela’s signature designs is the paint-cracking effect, previously featured in a Converse collaboration. Inspired by this, I created my own pair by coating the shoes in Gesso acrylic paint and allowing it to crack naturally over time, revealing the black leather underneath as the paint wears.
